This week we thought we would take this opportunity to share with our Kindergarten community some of the wonderful learning we have been doing in Science.

We have been learning how to be a scientist! In class we have been investigating through the scientific process of question, guess and test. To explore this concept further we had a visit from the Shell Questacon Science Circus. They explored fluids and energy through experiments with balls, slime and hair gel.

In the classroom we have been learning about 5 senses and using them to explore the world around us. We have made magnifying glasses to remind us to use our eyes to observe experiments.

We have been really excited about science in the classroom and your child may have mentioned the tea bag rocket and the lava lamp experiments. If you would like to try them at home, check out the links below.

If you would like to try the tea bag rocket at home you can find instructions and a short video here:

  1. Thanks for organising this visit. It's great to hear that the students are engaging with the scientific method! The tea bag experiment was discussed at length in our house..!
